Instacast db rk iro6/11/2023 ![]() They aren't niche, they aren't good for pvp, they suck. These skills are simply weak and shitty, there is no other way to describe them. I was very excited to play around with Reverberation, Metallic Sound and Dominion Impulse - before I learned that they weren't designed to do much more than eat up your skill points and laugh at you in your sleep. Maestro: This class can be summed up as "Pretty much worthless without another Maestro/Wanderer around". Biggest Cons: So easy to play that is insanely boring. You have Arrow Storm as a powerful AoE, and a lot of auto-attack steroids like Warg Strike (+1000% damage auto-skill), Fear Breeze (+1-5 extra hits on all your auto-attacks.), and then even a passive that increases your ranged damage by 250%, because why the hell not at this point? Its a very powerful class no matter how you cut it. After that its just a slow tedious job-level grind to get yourself from "needs to use double strafe constantly" to "just click on the target and it will die". You can get one of these pretty much instantly via eden quests and simply mashing the double strafe key up until 99/70. Ranger: Everyone knows this is the "ez-mode" class. Biggest Cons: Amplify Magic doesn't work on 'Released' spells. My only complaint about this class is that there simply aren't enough skill points to get everything I want. Lock gave it a run for its money finally though, and eventually surpassed it with elemental variety and repeatable instant-cast AoE nukes. One of the biggest problems I ran into was that my Kagerou, with Swirling Petal - was outdamaging any/every 3rd job class using only that one single skill. Warlock: This was the first and only class that truly impressed me. Elemental spell variety pales in comparison to the Warlock. Free-cast and Memorize still certainly have a place though. Biggest Cons: Doesn't use most of the Scholar skills that were great, like X-magic.That sounds pretty great actually, but the lack of forward momentum skill-wise leaves much to be desired. What I do hear is insanely OP about this class though, is the combination of using the spirit pet & elemental converter on MVP's to make yourself immune to their damage. Moving while casting spells? Who needs that when lock can insta-cast them. Strong AoE's with secondary effects? Nah, thats a lock thing. This character is quite literally the "Can't do things as well as Warlock" class. Without the Magician's Night Cap being in game, the only real option for leveling is Psychic Wave. Sorcerer: This character suffers from missing gear in game honestly. Invisibility is one of the coolest sounding skills, but in the end is just a very costly pvp-oriented steroid (which doesn't even function with backstab anyways) Backstab is still the best burst damage skill inherently on rogue (i.e., not using Repro), and it simply doesn't keep up with many of the other 3rd jobs. ![]() This leaves you with a short list of MATK skills that simply don't keep up with the build and playstyle. The restrictions are heinous too, and many skills cannot be auto-shadow spelled. It also gets a lower proc chance as you level it. Biggest Cons: Auto-Shadow Spell doesn't function with 3rd job skills, and only functions up to max level 5 for all other skills. You get some new utilities, but thats about it. What I quickly learned was that there is no real "power-add" to Shadowchaser from Stalker. I could pull off some nifty combinations with Auto-shadow Spell, Duple, Elemental Sword, and other "cast skill on attack" type gears. It was nice to see that I would not be relegated to bow + stripping as a 3rd job. Thus far I've managed to level up to 3rd job on multiple characters, and here's my feedback (read: opinions) on them as a whole I'd played on pservers a few years back, but they only had like 10% functional on all their renewal class skills, so it was a total downer and I took a very long break. I was originally very interested since this was the first time I would get to play with fully-functional renewal classes. I've been on this server about a month and a half so far.
